With a purpose-built boathouse as the main attraction for Phase 1, Phase 2 will accommodate a wakeboard cable run and aqua park. The complex will provide an enjoyable, compelling and profitable experience for day trippers, over-nighters, families, beginners and experts alike. The combination of high quality facilities, spectacular scenery and easy access will make Belfast International Water Sports Centre a must visit attraction.

The design and location of buildings has been considered to minimise the impact looking inwards from the Saintfield Road and from further afar. Close attention has been paid towards the development of a scheme sensitive to the ecology, history and economic needs of the local surrounding context. The layout of the site was informed by the topography of the site and the views outwards towards Belfast.
