Client Brief

A major commercial development to provide a synthesis of outlet retailing and arts and exhibition spaces set in a magnificent riverside parkland which will ensure a new life for the historic mill complex.

Design Solution

The listed buildings, dominated by the six-storey multi-bay structure, will be restored to their original architectural splendour by local craftspeople using traditional materials and techniques.

The retail and restaurant facilities will provide an exciting diversity of high quality outlets over two levels delivering over 110,000sqft of retail /restaurant space.

Gilford Mill is to be a creative centre of outstanding architectural merit, where local community and tourist alike can experience the world of art in an accessible way.

High quality finished duplex loft-style apartments over three levels of the existing mill building.
