The scheme was designed as an eleven storey building with the bottom six floors occupied by offices with the hotel accommodation then in the remaining upper floors. The front section of the building was designed as a glass box with the structural frame projecting out, creating an inviting approach. The rear section, in response to the emptiness of the glass box, was designed as a solid element harmonising with adjoining buildings.
